this story... had been written beautifully.. it is truly a masterpiece...

i would really like to thank Joshua for introducing this marvelous work to me.. when he told me that it was really good.. i didn't think that it would be this good.... its amazing...

i was absolutely in love with the language and the way Zafon had written it... everytime i read a chapter or two, it just seems to linger in my mind and i feel it within my heart, every word that had been carefully and cleverly chosen which carved out the entire portrait...

"Dawn was breaking, and a purple blade of light cut through the clouds, spraying its hue over the fronts of mansions and the stately homes that bordered Avenida del Tibidabo. A blue tram was crawling lazily uphill in the mist."

" The city is like a sorceress, you know Daniel? It gets under your skin and steals your soul without knowing it..."

apart from that, it has an amazing plot.. it is never dull.. it just keeps you guessing and the dramatic twists just leaves you wanting to go on reading..even when your eyes are feeling dry and awfully heavy thanks to the sandman who had been pouring endless sand into your eyes, hoping that you'll fall into his horrible trap to make you sleep, despite how tempting and how soft and comfy your bed is... you'll go on reading.. ^^ cause most likely, youre gonna stick tooth picks or match sticks in your eyes to keep them from closing... just like this poor guy here....

it has been hours since i put the book down and back into the cupboard but i am still caught up and am lost within the story as if i was one of the characters in the book.. living in the dangerous and twisted world created by the author... i think i'm still a little disturbed by it.. hahahahaha

anyway, i don't wanna give out any spoilers... so... for those who love to read.. this is a MUST READ !!!
